Progress Energy installed eight LED test fixtures in October, 2016 on the American street on the parking lot near by Shopping mall buildings and other businesses on this block. Eight 1000-watt high pressure sodium (HPS) street light fixtures were removed and eight 240-watt LED Street Lights from OAK LED were installed on a one-for-one replacement basis using the existing pole locations and mounting height.
Since the installation, OAK has observed the fixtures for proper operation. Light level (foot candle) readings were taken with the HPS and the LED fixtures and a point-by-point foot candle calculation has been prepared for the LED system.
